Breast mammography screening continues to be our greatest tool for detecting cancer at its earliest stages, when it is potentially more treatable and curable.  Which is why it is important for women to not neglect to get their annual mammogram – even during the COVID-19 pandemic. Equipped with the technology of 3D Mammography, the Radiology Team at Delhi Hospital can detect 40% more invasive cancers compared to the 2D standard alone. “It’s like opening a book”, says Gwyn Ogden, Radiology Director, as she explains the technology of 3D Mammography. “A traditional 2D Mammogram is much like looking at the cover a book, and 3D Mammography can be compared to opening the book and being able to flip through it page by page, seeing everything.” This technology makes it much harder for cancer to hide.

3D Mammography

3D Mammography gives us a whole new way of seeing and we are proud to be the first in the region to offer this service to our patients. We are pleased to offer our patients with a breakthrough technology that revolutionizes how breast cancer is detected today–Breast tomosynthesis. Now we can find cancer at its earliest, most treatable stage. 3D Mammography (tomosynthesis) is the most exciting advancement in breast cancer detection in more than 30 years. This innovative new technology that allows doctors to see breast tissue detail in a way never before possible to help find breast cancer at its earliest stages. The additional 3D images make it possible for a radiologist to gain a better understanding of your breast tissue during screening, significantly improving early detection and providing the confidence to reduce the need for follow-up imaging by up to 40%.

CT Scan 

Computerized Axial Tomography (CT Scanning) is proudly offered by the Radiology Department at Delhi Hospital and utilize the GE Bright Speed Elite 16-slice computerized scanner to deliver high resolution imaging for our patients. CT Scanning is a fast and painless procedure that is very useful to patients due to the low amounts of radiation that is exposed during the scan. These advanced imaging capabilities allow our Radiology Staff to produce multiple images of all areas of the body at once, such as soft tissue, bone and blood vessels. CT Scans allow radiologist to quickly diagnose tumors, blood clots and other abnormalities. Our Radiology Department is committed to providing our community and surrounding members with state-of-the-art equipment to better meet the needs of our patients.

Bone Density

Bone Density testing is a safe, non-invasive test that is most commonly recommended for those who are likely to develop Osteoporosis. Delhi Hospital’s Radiology Department uses the GE Lunar Prodigy Densitometer Machine because it was designed to look beyond the bone mineral density and even has the ability to detect subtle bone changes. Providing our patients with high quality bone densitometry equipment allows us to deliver fast scans and produce consistent, accurate results. Osteoporosis is a serious and common disease that can be present within your body for years and years without your knowledge. The disease is silent and is usually only screened for when a bone fractures. Bone health awareness is an important issue and our health care professionals encourage you to boost your bone health by asking your doctor if you are at risk of developing osteporosis. Osteporosis can be effectively treated and managed if it detected and diagnosed.

X-Ray

X-rays are the most common and frequently used form of medical imaging that can be utilized for routine or emergency use. X-rays are produced with a small amount of radiation and allow our staff to diagnose and treat many health issues. Delhi Hospital offers Routine Digital X-Rays to patients in order to improve patient care and provide better image quality. Digital X-Rays allow us to view x-ray results as a two dimensional image, requires less radiation to produce a higher quality x-ray and allows our staff to examine patients in the most precise way possible. Our Radiology Staff is dedicated to providing patients with access to fast, accurate x-ray services and ensuring patients the most comfortable experience.

Ultrasound

Ultrasound (also known as sonography) is one of our services provided that uses sound waves to create images of the body. Unlike our other diagnostic imaging services, Ultrasound uses no radiation and is a painless procedure. Real-time Images produced through ultrasounds can show structure and movement of the body’s internal organs, allowing us to help diagnose and treat an array of medical conditions. Ultrasounds are performed using the LOGIQ E9 Ultrasound Imaging System that is a powerful and versatile imaging machine to help us meet a wide variety of your imaging needs. It allows us to acquire images quickly, achieve deep penetration to obtain image uniformity from the near to far field, and improve image clarity.
