Alisha McVay, FNP graduated from Northwestern State University with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, leading her onto her journey as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2014. She is trained to assess patient needs, order and interpret diagnostic and laboratory tests, diagnose diseases and formulate and prescribe treatment plans for her patients. In 2015, Mrs. McVay earned her Wound Care Certification to assist Diabetic patients with wound complications from their disease.
Alisha’s patients love her welcoming spirit and superior knowledge of medicine. Her knowledge not only stems from her education, but also in the ways that she strives to continue her education. Mrs.McVay has developed and implemented medical staff treatment protocol for MI and STEMI, developed and implemented Diabetic Care treatment guidelines in a Rural Health Clinic, and successfully converted clinical departments of a PPS Hospital to a Critical Access Hospital.
Outside of practicing medicine, Alisha enjoys cooking and spending time with her family. Her favorite dish to cook for her family of four is Gumbo. Alisha also enjoys creating floral arrangements and watching her sons play baseball.
