Dr. Raj Bhandari’s medical education began in Ontario, Canada in 1978. In 1989, he moved to Bronx, New York, where he completed his Internal Medicine Residency and later became the Chief Medical Resident at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center. Dr. Bhandari completed fellowship in Gastroenterology at Winthrop University Hospital in Long Island, NY. Next, he set out on a new journey in Texas, where he studied the coordination of clinical trials.
Dr. Bhandari currently practices Gastroenterology at clinics in Bastrop and Delhi, while also performing endoscopy services at multiple hospitals across Northeast Louisiana. Dr. Bhandari is the Principal Investigator at Delta Research Partners where he has contributed his research to many publications to prominent medical journals, including the New England Journal of Medicine.
Outside of the medical community, Dr. Bhandari enjoys spending time with his wife, Anne-Marie, and his two children. In order to stay active, he also enjoys playing racquetball and golfing with friends.
Dr. Bhandari graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Honors) from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He earned his medical degree from the University of Ottawa Medical School. He completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Our Lady of Mercy Medical Center in Bronx, New York. He subsequently completed a chief medical residency at the same hospital. He then completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology and Nutrition at Winthrop University Hospital in Mineola, New York. During his fellowship he conducted several research studies which have been published.
